Since January 2020, the German government passed a law regulating the tax credit for R&D activities.
As one of the last developed countries, Germany now also supports the innovation measures of private companies in this non-bureaucratic, effective and technologically un-biased way. Apart from own in-house research, also the sponsors of contract R&D benefit from these new regulations. They get 25% of the contract volume back from the revenue office. The only prerequisites are: tax liability in Germany and a total of up to 4 Mio € contract volume per year over all sponsor contracts.
